Totem Animals - Card Reading Course

Totem Animals: Spiritual Guides and Mentors from the Natural World
The concept of a "Totem Animal" draws its origins from indigenous cultures and shamanic traditions worldwide. According to these beliefs, the entire universe pulses through a web of connections, and every person has an energetic and spiritual connection to the animal kingdom. A totem animal is not merely a metaphorical symbol, but an archetype representing traits, qualities, powers, and lessons that a person carries with them, or those they must learn during their life's journey.
At its core, a totem animal is a guiding spirit that takes the form of an animal. It serves as a reflection of our deepest character traits, our inherent potential, and the challenges we face. The appearance of the animal in our lives- whether in physical reality, dreams, meditation, or as a recurring presence in our consciousness- is perceived as a message, guidance, or a call for spiritual awakening.
The animal acts as a mirror. The way it hunts, rests, defends its territory, or interacts with its environment prompts us to reflect on how we conduct ourselves in the world. For example, a bear might teach the importance of turning inward, hibernation, and inner listening, while a hawk awakens us to a broader perspective, objectivity, and sharp discernment.
A primary totem animal accompanies a person throughout all or most of their life. It represents their most fundamental essence and the core of their soul. The connection with it is stable and constant, even if it is not always felt on the surface.
Messenger animals act as envoys. These are animals that appear during specific periods to assist with a particular challenge, deliver an urgent message, or teach a lesson relevant to that timeframe. Once the lesson is learned or the period passes, they may continue on their way, making room for other guides.
Connecting with a totem animal is an invitation to deepen our acquaintance with the powers of the psyche.
In this course, we will understand the qualities and traits of the animals, and touch upon the deep places that drive us. We will observe the symbols of nature and understand the language of animals as a guiding and supportive tool in life.
We will integrate card reading and heart-opening into the study:
-
Animals representing the elements of fire, earth, air, and water.
-
Mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects.
-
Opening the path.
-
Personal work as a developmental process.
During the course, we will create a personal totem, which will serve as a reminder of the energy we wish to strengthen in our lives.
The study is conducted out of respect and love for the natural world. It is designed for anyone desiring a process of self-awareness and development, and an additional perspective on their life. It strengthens a person's sense of unity with creation.
The "Song of the Spirit" cards create a dialogue with the traditional Tarot deck through the meanings they carry.
16 sessions, each lasting about three hours.
I offer activities for groups on birthdays and other joyous occasions :-)
